Harvested October 5th from our Naramata Bench Estate, 4.4 tons/acre with a sugar level of 25.9 Brix and 4.3 grams/L acidity. After 16 days ferment on the skins, both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations were complete. After gentle pressing and several days settling in tank, the wine was racked to 4 French oak barrels for aging. This vintage shows our typical style – elegant structure yet sufficient tannins to further develop with bottle aging, after 21 months in barrel. This vintage showcases the bold, rich & ripe red fruit characteristics we love to see in Merlot.
